Treatment Programmes

Structured, condition-specific treatment combining osteopathy with the latest medical-grade therapies

Spine Plus treatment programmes

At Spine Plus, we have developed structured treatment programmes for specific conditions. Each programme follows a logical sequence of assessment and treatment, integrating hands-on osteopathic and physiotherapy care with advanced technologies including IDD spinal decompression, focused shockwave therapy, TECAR, Class IV laser and medical acupuncture.

Our programmes are designed to address both the immediate pain and the underlying cause, with rehabilitation to prevent recurrence. Appointments are available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and on Saturdays at all our clinics.

Fees: 60-minute appointments from £80, 30-minute follow-up appointments from £60.

  • Integration of advanced therapies where appropriate

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

For simple sprains and strains, most patients improve significantly within 1 to 3 sessions. For more complex or long-standing conditions, a structured course of 6 to 12 sessions is typical, with frequency reducing as improvement progresses.

We do not use high-pressure sales or exaggerated scare tactics. Our ethos is focused on patients' needs before profit. We will give you an honest assessment of what treatment is likely to achieve and at what cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my first appointment include treatment?

We try to include hands-on or electrotherapy treatment at the first appointment wherever possible, alongside a detailed case history and clinical examination. The main exceptions are our 30-minute new patient appointment, or initial assessment/suitability appointments for IDD spinal decompression therapy.

Do I need a referral letter from my GP or consultant?

No, it's not necessary for self-pay clients, who make up the vast majority of our patients and simply self-refer. If you're being treated as an insured client (e.g. AXA), your insurer may require a GP or specialist referral to authorise funding, so check with them first.

How frequent are the treatments you recommend?

This varies by condition. On average we advise attending once or twice a week during the initial "first aid" phase of treatment. For chronic or degenerative problems needing maintenance sessions, this typically reduces to once every one to four months.

Will you try to sign me up to lengthy and expensive courses of treatment?

No high-pressure sales or exaggerated scare tactics. Our ethos is patients' needs before profit. We'll give you an honest recommended treatment plan based on established clinical guidelines, never more than we genuinely think is necessary. For most conditions this is usually 3 to 6 treatments; spinal decompression generally needs more sessions for maximum results.

What happens during my first appointment?

You'll be greeted in reception and taken through to the treatment room, where we'll ask a series of medical questions and assess your posture, movement and tissue quality (this may require removing some clothing). We'll then give you a written treatment plan ("Action Plan") to take home (with exercise video clips and handouts emailed to you if needed) before booking your follow-up appointment.
